SPECIAL BULLETIN: MyChron LCU One S Lambda Sensor

We have been made aware that there are non-genuine Lambda Sensors being sold into the karting market. These products do not function correctly or reliably with MyChron LCU One and LCU One S.

They may work when initially installed, but fail very quickly when the heater element in the sensor fails, due to the extreme nature of the karting 2-stroke engine. We only sell and recommend genuine Bosch sensors.

It can sometimes be very difficult to tell a counterfeit item from the genuine product. Here are the main ways to tell the difference.

Packaging is often noticeably or subtly different.

Genuine BOSCH packaging has a security label sealing the box. Check that it is intact and the packaging has not been opened or tampered with. Reject any package which has been previously opened.

The genuine BOSCH sensor has the part number and the word 'BOSCH Germany' etched on the barrel of the sensor, whereas the counterfeit items usually have only 'Germany' etched onto them.

The genuine BOSCH sensor has a ribbed cable cover, while the counterfeit items usually have a smooth cover.

We strongly urge the use of only genuine BOSCH products. Use of non-genuine sensors may void any warranties.

Even though some of the counterfeit products may function in road-going or similar usage, they cannot tolerate the extreme nature of karting 2-stroke engines. Don't risk wasting your money on inferior products, as it will only cause you inconvenience and cost more in the long run. Insist on the genuine product, and check all elements yourself as outlined above before opening.
